Strategies for Autonomy and Follow-Up in Institutionalized Young People

This course aims to develop skills for members of the technical and educational teams for a harmonious, structured and procedural preparation for the child’s/young person’s departure, methodologies and accompanying techniques, with a view to the success of the life project designed, debating each step of this crucial process in the child’s/young person’s life.
Framework
General Objectives:
- Acting to develop autonomy;
- The development of autonomy in children and young people in care;
- Strategies to promote autonomy in residential care;
- Intervention for autonomy in the different developmental stages.

Trainer
Carlos Silva Peixoto
Graduated and post-graduated in Clinical Psychology. Admitted to the Order of Psychologists, with basic specialties in Clinical and Health Psychology and Social and Organizational Psychology, with advanced specialties in Justice Psychology and Community Psychology. Participation in the work group at Cassel Hospital – Therapeutic Unit specializing in personality disorders with adolescents, adults and families – London – United Kingdom and at Glebe House Therapeutic Community – Specialized Reception Structure for Children/Young People at Risk – Cambridge – United Kingdom; Diverse professional experience, with a focus on the area of children and young people; Several national and two international publications with scientific screening, a total of 8, of which 3 books and 5 articles; Participation in projects and presentation of 81 communications and posters at congresses. Guest lecturer at postgraduate and master’s courses. Member of CENCIFOR – Centro Ciências Forenses – Portugal – FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (Foundation for Science and Technology) and SPECAN – Sociedade Portuguesa para o Estudo da Criança Abusada e Negligenciada (Portuguese Society for the Study of Abused and Neglected Children).

The trainee will receive a certificate with the number of hours of training, inserted into the SIGO platform, through the Associação Teatro e Construção, an entity certified by DGERT.
