Falls among the elderly have significant physical, psychological and social impacts, occurring both in healthcare institutions and in the community context, especially at home. This increasingly common reality constitutes a serious public health problem due to its consequences for the well-being and quality of life of the elderly person, their family and the professionals involved in their care, as well as causing high social and economic costs. Various risk factors, many of which are environmental in nature and can be modified, are at the root of these incidents. For this reason, preventing falls should be a priority, promoting safer environments and educational interventions.
